3 of the YBFF Finalists, L-R: Callum Fernandes-Clarke, Darren Yeboah, Ricardo P Lloyd

In partnership with TikTok and My SMASH Media, here is an exciting and nerve-wracking live pitching event coming soon. Set to take place at the Garden Cinema in Covent Garden, London on Friday 24th October, the event is an integral part of London Breeze Premiere. The seven finalists of the Young Black Filmmakers Fund Competition are expected to compete in front of a panel of industry professionals for a £10,000 funding pot to make their short film.

The winner will receive £5,000 in cash from TikTok and £5,000 in-kind support from partners including Adobe, Festival Formula, Shorts TV, and the British Urban Film Festival. The winning film will premiere at next year's London Breeze Film Festival and also screen at the British Urban Film Festival (BUFF).

The judging panel is composed of:

 

  • Andy Mundy-Castle, Shoot the People/White Nanny Black Child Film producer
  • Stella Akinwumi, TikTok Creator & Film Critic
  • Emmanuel Anyiam-Osigwe, Founder and Director of British Urban Film Festival
  • Victoria Thomas, London Film School
  • Alex Kayode-Kay, BAFTA nominated film director (The Ballad of Olive Morris) and founder of YBFF in partnership with LBFF and TikTok.
