Awilo Longomba est un artiste chanteur et musicien congolais. Il est célèbre autant sur le continent que dans la diaspora et il se produit fréquemment sur la scène internationale. Depuis plus de deux décennies, Awilo Longomba est dans le top 3 des musiciens de la RDC et son style musical a transcendé le soukous, incorporant également l'afro pop et l'afro beat. Sa polyvalence musicale entraîne de nombreux featuring et collaborations avec d'autre artistes africains tels la diva nigériane Yemi Alade avec "Rihanna", « Zoungou remix » avec le guinéen Bebeto, "Enemy Solo" avec les P-Square.

Né le 6 mai 1962 en République démocratique du Congo, il héritera du talent musical de son père, le chanteur Vicky Longomba du Tout Puissant OK Jazz. Avant de commencer une carrière solo, Awilo sera batteur, notamment du groupe Viva La Musica et Loketo entre 1980 et 1994. En 1995, il abandonne la batterie pour le chant, et enregistre Moto Pamba, son premier disque sous son nom. Avec son deuxième album Coupé Bibamba en 1998, sa notoriété s'étend d'Afrique en Europe en passant par l'Amérique. Coupé Bibamba en featuring avec la chanteuse de Kassav Jocelyne Béroard, l'animateur Tutu Kaludji et Alain Mpéla de Wenge BCBG, deviendra son album phare et connaitra un énorme succès, suivi de Kafou Kafou en 2000 — qui gagne un prix au Kora Awards en 2001 (le 3ème en date ayant déjà reçu des awards en 1996 et 1997 pour ses albums précédents). En 2003, il sort Mondongo et en 2008 l'album Super Man, qui reçoit le Best Soukous Entertainer Award en 2009.

En 2016, après un long séjour dans son Kinshasa natal, Awilo sort « Kolo kwanga » où il célèbre la chikwange (manioc), un met congolais apprécié de tous. Dans le clip de cette chanson, il se fait entourer de plusieurs chroniqueurs musicaux de Kinshasa et du célèbre comédien kinois Fiston Saï Saï.

Awilo Longomba est parmi les rares musiciens congolais à se produire chaque fois en Afrique Occidentale dans des pays comme le Nigeria, le Burkina Faso, le Cap-Vert et autres. C'est un artiste qui fédère et qui attire tout type de public.

Reine Diambi Kabatusuila a été couronnée 'souverain traditionnel' du peuple Bena Tshiyamba du Bakwa Indu de la région centrale du Kasaï, qui fait partie de l’ancien Empire Luba en République démocratique du Congo, le 31 août 2016.

Le 3 mars 2019, la reine a été couronnée à Salvador de Bahia, reine mère du peuple bantou du Brésil, diaspora africaine historique où elle a reçu le titre de Grande Mãe do Povo Bantu Bazileiro par le Parlement brésilien en mars 2019.

La reine Diambi est notamment titulaire d’un doctorat en administration publique, d’un doctorat Honoris Causa de philosophie en sciences humaines, d’un poste de professeur en droit international et de l’ordre et d’une maîtrise en psychologie appliquée.

In Search of Dinozord is a very intense political piece touching on the violence of the Congo Regime since the years of Sese Seko Mobutu up to now. It is an immersive and intimate experience which gives a face and a voice to Congolese nationals who have fallen in the trap of being statistics, whose sufferings are invisible to the international community.

Different stories are told; one of a friend who no longer is and dreamt to change African litterature; one of Vumi who was emprisonned with other political prisoners in Congo, who escaped and is now referred to, in the piece, as the last seed. "Seed, I am the last". This story is not fictional but real and it is documented with photos projected on stage while actors dance and mourn the absence of their friends, yet refusing to let go of the torn dreams for a better Congo.

Faustin Linyekula starts the journey alone with his face painted in white clay which for the Bantou people is the color of death and the other world. He delves into his childhood memories attempting to make sense of the agony of his people and to resurrect from the ashes hope and a new man.

The dancers from Studios Kabako master the dance technicality of Central Africa in a contemporary fashion, its codes, giving the sense of a continuous flow of life through the circular movement of their hips amongst ruins, violence and loss. It will conclude in a solo piece, fusion of jazz and blues, where the dancer would evolve effortlessly through breakdance and popping into a new man. The powerful Live vocals by the South African singer and actress, Hlengiwe Lushaba, embody the search of meaning and freedom through art of an African nation "once" in chains, desillusioned, forced to adapt and rebuild their lives in a forced exile. She sings from the depths of her soul.

"Where day meets night, agony meets birth" these words can be read on the screen.

As Faustin Linyekula and Vumi would conclude in the talk following the piece, "Congo is an open market for everyone and it belongs to multinational companies today. It is convenient to keep Congo as a war zone and messy so that they can get cheap minerals. We should all be concerned...
